Pay: $41.00 per hour

Position Summary

Per Diem is available for out of town candidates. $150 per days worked

We are seeking Structural Welders to support heavy shipyard construction and repair projects. This role requires strong multi-position welding abilities, proficiency in reading welding symbols and technical drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality work that meets Classification Society and company standards. All welding work is subject to successful Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) results.

Key Responsibilities

Perform fillet and groove welding in all positions in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Weld using ceramic backing and complete weld repairs as required.

Utilize various welding processes, including:

FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)

SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding

Stainless steel fillet welding

Prepare and pad weld joints per WPS requirements.

Perform carbon arc gouging.

Interpret welding symbols, shop drawings, and WPS documentation.

Conduct daily self-inspections and internal quality checks.

Maintain acceptable NDT rejection rates in accordance with company and Classification Society standards.

Safely operate, inspect, and maintain welding equipment and tools.

Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Work indoors and outdoors, in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED (required).

Preferred: 3–5 years of experience in shipyard or steel fabrication welding.

Heavy industrial shipyard environment.

Regular exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, dust, and vibration.

Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand for extended periods, and work at heights.

Must be able to work in confined spaces.
