Job Description
Position Purpose:

At The Home Depot, safety is our top priority. As a Corporate Security Guard at the Global Customer Commerce (GCC), you will serve as the visible presence of safety and security on our corporate campuses. Security Officers monitor all GCC facilities to ensure a safe environment for associates. This position delivers both security services and customer support by assisting with safety concerns. Security Guards maintain a calm, professional attitude when managing daily procedures as well as emergency situations.

This role may also be known as Security Officer or Security Guard.

The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday (occasional weekends), varying hours.

Key Responsibilities:
• 30% - Customer Service - Provide customer service to individuals entering or exiting GCC facilities. Monitor security checkpoints and other designated areas to screen and control events. Escort associates and visitors upon request.
• 30% - Operational Procedures - Patrol the perimeter of The Global Custom Commerce (GCC) campuses. Investigate unusual incidents or behaviors. Prepare incident reports for actual or potential security issues. Interview victims and witnesses as needed. Respond to various emergency situations on campus..
• 40% - Security Services - Conduct security inspection tours of GCC campuses; document and report problems in detail to appropriate personnel. Monitor building access points using security technology, CCTV, and HR systems as necessary.

Travel Requirements:
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Physical Requirements:
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Working Conditions:
• Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

• Must be able to read and write to review and complete required reports and record keeping activities.
• You should possess interpersonal skills to effectively interact with and communicate with HD associates and visitors.
• Must possess logical skills and inspect HD property to ensure safety of HD associates and visitors.
