Mercado Little Spain is hosting an Open Call for Commissary Kitchen Team Members to support one of NYC’s most dynamic culinary operations.

Open Call - Commissary Team

📍 Location: Mercado Little Spain

📅 Days: Wednesdays - Sundays
⏰ Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Current Openings:

🔪 Prep Cook: $18.00 - $20.00/hour, based on experience
🔥 Line Cook: $20.00 - $23.00/hour, based on experience

What You’ll Do:
• Prepare and execute dishes with precision, following our recipes and presentation standards.
• Set up and maintain your station with care, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with team members and managers to deliver top-tier guest experiences.
• Conduct regular line checks and adjust cooking temperatures as needed.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout your shift.
• Communicate product needs and kitchen updates to your manager and teammates.
• Step in to support your team during peak hours or as needed.

What We’re Looking For:
• Open availability with flexibility (minimum of 3 days per week, including evenings, weekends and holidays).
• Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and knife handling.
• Understanding of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Previous prep or line cook experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle hot and cold conditions.
• Basic English communication skills required.
