Through our talented staff and “LEAP” career framework (Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Personal Growth), we are committed to a people-first approach that fosters trust, inclusion, growth, and development for all.The Prospect Park YMCA is seeking a Security Guard who, under the direct supervision of the Property Director, will be responsible for the security and safety of all participants in and around the Prospect Park YMCA and delivering quality customer service to the program members.Key Responsibilities:Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and staff by providing close supervision of facilities; control access into the facility and exit ways.Adhere to all Department of Health, Department of Youth & Community Development, NYCHA, and YMCA of Greater New York standards.Adhere to and enforce the security policies at all times. Patrol facility for the purpose of detecting all infractions of house rules.Reporting to the proper authorities.Maintain fire/safety logbooks in accordance with the facility requirements. Security logs include daily sign-in and sign-out sheets for all participants and visitors. Inspect all bags, packages, etc., leaving premises as described in YMCA policies.Participate as an active member of the fire brigade and provide MOD coverage when required.Effectively communicate program information to participants and visitors.Perform investigations and thoroughly document. Appropriately report and document all incidents/accidents immediately.Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of youth in the program by providing close supervision of participants in hallways.Be on time, in uniform, and prepared to work at the beginning of the shift.Ensure the check-in area is always neat, organized, and free of hazards.Assist with general housekeeping tasks when necessary.Desired Skills & Experience:High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of one (1) year of security experience.Knowledge of security and safety procedures.Sprinkler certification S-95 FDNY cert preferred but must be obtained within 90 days of employment.NYS Certified Security Guard License preferred.Current CPR/AED certifications preferred.Benefits:The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits, medical, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
