Reports To: Kitchen Manager / Head Cook

Job Summary

The Food Handler is responsible for assisting with the handling and storage of food while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality. This position supports the kitchen team by ensuring food safety guidelines are followed and the kitchen remains organized and sanitary.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain proper food handling and sanitation procedures always.
• Ensure all food is stored at the correct temperatures according to health regulations.
• Label and rotate food using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and utensils.
• Wash dishes, pots, and kitchen tools when needed.
• Dispose of trash and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
• Restock ingredients and supplies as needed.
• Follow all Texas food safety and health department regulations.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
Qualifications
• Food Handler Certificate (required or must obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift to 40 lbs.
