Job Description
MARCH, an intimate, fine-dining and tasting menu restaurant opens soon and is looking for a self-motivated, hospitality driven, and genuinely gracious and warm Maitre'd to engage guests. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years hosting and reservations experience while working in similar upscale, fine-dining establishments. Strong food, wine and hospitality knowledge are required. You must be able to anticipate the needs of our guests, prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, meet deadlines, and take direction well. Organization skills are imperative, along with proficiency in OpenTable, Google Suite, Adobe, Toast & Microsoft Excel. You should be familiar and comfortable with high-end clientele and an ultra-detailed oriented hospitality environment. Please be able and happy to communicate with multiple guests at once, while simultaneously giving a memorable welcomes and gracious goodbyes. In addition to working the floor during dinner services, as leader of the host team, you will be responsible for managing all reservations via OpenTable, phone, and email.Additional duties include: Responding to all reservations inquiries via phone and email Creating, confirming and printing custom tasting menus in Adobe InDesignOrganizing, filing and retrieving event documents in appropriate folders on DropBoxMaintaining a balance between floor, administration and employee supervision while upholding core values level of service Training all hosts and reservationistsRequired skills and traits: Ability to spot and resolve problems efficientlyGood common sense and sound judgmentMastery in delegating multiple tasksCommunication and leadership skillsKnowledge of food and beverage trends and best practicesEagerness to learn and contribute to success of businessPatience and flexibility for start-up environmentDesire to learn and grow in the hospitality industryAbility to work across departments, especially with kitchen management teamsAbility to accomplish projects with little supervisionHigh customer service standardExcellent phone etiquetteFlexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to work at least 40 hours a week on their feet and lift at least 40 lbs.
