Location: 4545 W. Lyndale Ave. Chicago, IL 60639

Alpha Baking Company operates three (3) shifts around the clock 365 days per year. We cannot guarantee that any employee is permanently assigned to a particular shift or that any employee is guaranteed specific or the same days off each week. Additionally, this position requires work of a physical nature in a work environment that it subject to very hot and very cold conditions.

Job Overview:
The Packaging Department Worker is responsible for performing packaging and labeling duties in the bakery's packaging department. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team environment. The Packaging Department Worker will report to the Packaging Department Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
• Package and label finished baked goods according to customer specifications and bakery standards.
• Operate packaging equipment, including baggers, sealers, and labeling machines.
• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet bakery standards.
• Monitor packaging equipment to ensure it is running efficiently and make adjustments as needed.
• Keep the packaging area clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Packaging Department Supervisor.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a union position, and the pay rate will be based on the collective bargaining agreement.

Salary Transparency:
$21.50 /Hour

Requirements:
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
• Ability to work 3rd shift and all three shifts plus overtime as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
