So you're thinking about welder jobs in the Philippines
Been around a few shipyards and fab shops myself over the years. The demand's real but it ain't always what recruiters hype it up to be.
Where the work actually shows up
Manila and Cebu pull a lot of the bigger gigs. Think construction sites, ship repair, even some mining outfits up north. But smaller towns got their own needs too - like local machine shops that keep things running.
From what I've seen, most guys start in fabrication or pipe welding. Those skills transfer easy if you want to move around later.

Pay and what it really feels like day to day
Entry level might land you around 15k to 20k pesos a month. Experienced welders doing TIG or underwater stuff pull way more. But the hours can be brutal when deadlines hit.
Not gonna lie, the heat plus the gear makes it tough some days. You get used to it though. A lot of teams work in pairs or small groups so it ain't all solo grinding.
Getting started without the hassle
Most places want at least a TESDA cert. Some will train you on site if you show basic skill. Online job boards are okay but word of mouth from other welders still lands the better spots.
Thing is, safety records vary a ton between companies. Ask around before signing anything.
Big difference between a steady shop job and chasing projects every few months.
