As per the Ministry of Labour & Employment, the minimum wage for welders classified as skilled workers in the central sphere is ₹18,500 per month effective from 1 April 2026. This rate applies to establishments under the Minimum Wages Act with overtime paid at double the ordinary rate beyond 8 hours daily. The amount is revised annually based on the consumer price index.

As per the National Career Service, applicants for welder jobs must upload Aadhaar number linked to UIDAI, ITI welder certificate, and bank account details during registration. The portal requires a recent photograph and mobile number verified via OTP for job alerts starting 1 January 2026. No application fee is charged for any vacancy listed on ncs.gov.in.

As per the Ministry of Labour & Employment, welders are entitled to a maximum of 48 working hours per week with at least one rest day under the Factories Act as of 2026. Annual leave with wages is 15 days after 240 days of work plus 10 festival holidays. Night shift welders receive an additional 12.5 percent allowance on basic pay.

As per EPFO, employees earning up to ₹15,000 basic pay contribute 12 percent toward EPF while employers match the amount, resulting in ₹1,800 monthly deduction from a ₹20,000 salary where basic is capped at ₹15,000. The contribution rate remains unchanged for the financial year 2026-27. Statements are available on the EPFO member portal after UAN activation.
