Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSOperate production machinery safely and efficiently according to standard operating procedures when required.Conduct regular machine maintenance checks, troubleshoot issues, and report necessary repairs to the supervisor or maintenance team.Monitor the production process, adjust machine settings as needed, and rectify production errors to maintain quality control standards.Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.Maintain clean and organized work areas to ensure safety and operational efficiency.Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Record and report operational data, including quantities produced, materials used, and any incidents or issues during production.Collaborate with staff to meet maintenance and production goals.Oversee, schedule, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems within the facility.Supervise the maintenance team, ensuring tasks are performed accurately, efficiently, and safely.Inspect and assess the functionality of production systems, machines, and equipment to identify issues and plan necessary repairs.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment.Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving of maintenance issues.Develop and implement a regular maintenance schedule for all machinery and equipment.Prepare and present maintenance reports and other documentation as required.Coordinate with other departments to identify maintenance needs and schedule repairs.Contribute to the budget development for the maintenance department, including the procurement of equipment and supplies.EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCERequired Qualifications:Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Experience with electrical PLC & AC/DC drives.Basic understanding of mechanical systems and machine operation.Ability to read and understand technical manuals and production specifications.General experience in Maintenance or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of machinery, equipment, and systems used in manufacturing.Proficient in using tools and equipment for maintenance and repair.Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures in the industry.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.Basic math and computer skills for recording production data.Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a production environment.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):Certificate or diploma in a related technical field.Prior experience in a manufacturing facility.Forklift certification.Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, though on-the-job training will be provided.KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLSStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with different departments.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.A safety-first mindset with attention to detail in all tasks.A team player who values safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
