Job Description
Set up and operate arc welding equipment
- Fabricate and repair metal components
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Maintain and clean welding equipment
- Cutting and positioning materials needed for welding projects, using a torch or other tools
- Inspecting welds for quality and defects, using tools such as microscopes
- Inspecting equipment for damage or defects, replacing parts as needed to maintain efficiency
- Reading and interpreting codes, symbols, and schematics to determine proper setup and procedures
- Installing and repairing welding equipment, such as torches and wire feeders, to ensure proper operation
- Operating welding equipment to weld or cut metal components or materials
