Job Description
Welding Operations Management

Oversee daily welding activities for manual and robotic welding lines.

Allocate welding tasks based on production schedules, priorities, and workforce availability.

Develop, validate, and implement welding procedures, WPS, and work instructions.

Supervise and train welders, robotic operators, and technicians to maintain high skill levels.

Monitor shift-wise output and ensure adherence to production targets.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure welding quality in collaboration with Quality Control to resolve non-conformities.

Maintain compliance with safety regulations, ISO standards, and customer-specific certifications (ISO, TUV Nord).

Manage documentation including WPS, PQR, weld maps, and welder qualification records.

Support audits, trials, and quality improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

Supervise 3 welding supervisors and 30 welders.

Identify skill gaps and arrange training programs for welders.

Conduct performance evaluations and maintain discipline on the shop floor.

Resolve conflicts and ensure smooth operations across shifts.

Process Improvement & Technical Expertise

Troubleshoot welding defects, robotic programming issues, and implement corrective actions.

Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Kaizen, and automation techniques.

Coordinate with PPC, Quality, and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Plan procurement and inventory of welding consumables, spares, and equipment.

Planning & Reporting

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.

Maintain reports on productivity, downtime, rejection rates, and improvement initiatives.

Utilize ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) for resource planning and tracking.
