Job Description: Senior Plumbing Supervisor

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Supervisor to oversee all plumbing installations and operations for a large-scale residential project spanning 5 lakh square feet. This role requires hands-on leadership in managing plumbing systems, teams, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Supervision
• Supervise and coordinate all plumbing installation activities across the 5 lakh sq ft residential development
• Plan, organize, and monitor plumbing work schedules to ensure timely project completion
• Review plumbing drawings, specifications, and ensure compliance with approved designs
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution
• Monitor progress and prepare regular reports for project management

Team Leadership & Development
• Lead and manage a team of plumbers, pipe fitters, and junior supervisors
• Conduct daily briefings, assign tasks, and ensure optimal workforce utilization
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members
• Evaluate team performance and recommend training or development needs

Quality Assurance & Safety
• Ensure all plumbing installations comply with IS codes, NBC guidelines, and local regulations
• Conduct regular quality inspections and implement corrective measures
• Enforce strict safety protocols and maintain incident-free work environment
• Coordinate with safety officers and participate in safety audits

Technical Oversight
• Oversee installation of water supply systems, drainage systems, and sanitary fixtures
• Manage installation of residential plumbing components including pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, and water storage systems
• Supervise installation of bathroom fixtures, kitchen plumbing, and utility connections
• Ensure proper testing, pressure testing, and commissioning of all plumbing systems
• Oversee rainwater harvesting and sewage treatment plant installations

Administrative & Coordination
• Maintain accurate records of materials, labor, and project progress
• Coordinate with procurement team for timely availability of plumbing materials
• Liaise with plumbing consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities
• Prepare and submit statutory compliance reports and clearances for water and sewage connections

Required Qualifications

Education: ITI (Plumbing) or 10+2 with relevant plumbing/mechanical training

Experience: Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in plumbing installations, preferably in residential or commercial construction projects

Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, water supply, drainage, and sanitary installations
• Proficiency in reading plumbing drawings, isometric diagrams, and specifications
• Experience with residential plumbing systems including high-rise water supply systems
• Understanding of plumbing testing procedures, pressure testing, and leak detection
• Knowledge of pumping systems, water treatment, and sewage management

Leadership Skills:
• Proven ability to lead and manage plumbing teams effectively
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in large-scale residential projects (3+ lakh sq ft)
• Knowledge of modern plumbing technologies and green plumbing practices
• Certification in plumbing safety or project management
• Experience with STP, WTP, and rainwater harvesting systems
• Familiarity with plumbing estimation and project planning software

Specific Project Requirements
• Experience with multi-story residential buildings and high-rise water supply systems
• Knowledge of fire fighting systems and sprinkler installations
• Understanding of swimming pool plumbing (if applicable)
• Experience with utility connections and municipal approvals
