Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for welding and gas cutting of steel plates, pipes, and structural components used in shipbuilding, repair, and fabrication, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Perform welding (ARC/MIG) and gas cutting operations as per drawings and work instructions
β€’ Cut, fit, and weld ship hull plates, sections, frames, and pipelines
β€’ Read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols
β€’ Ensure weld quality, alignment, and dimensional accuracy
β€’ Carry out pre-heating, grinding, and finishing as required
β€’ Follow safety procedures and use PPE at all times
β€’ Maintain tools, welding machines, and gas cutting equipment
β€’ Coordinate with supervisors and fitters to meet production schedules

Requirements:
β€’ ITI / trade certificate in Welding or equivalent
β€’ Minimum 2–5 years of experience in shipbuilding or heavy fabrication
β€’ Knowledge of welding techniques, electrodes, and gas cutting practices
β€’ Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights

Work Location: Shipyard / Dry Dock / Fabrication Yard
