Job Description

An electrician in the electrical panel manufacturing industry is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical control panels, switch-gear, and distribution boards. They ensure that the panels comply with safety standards and function as required for industrial and commercial applications.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.

Assemble and mount electrical components such as circuit breakers, relays, contractors, switches, and PLCs in control panels.

Perform wiring and cable routing according to panel design and specifications.

Ensure proper connections, terminations, and labeling of wires for easy identification.

Conduct insulation resistance and continuity testing to verify wiring integrity.

Identify and resolve wiring errors, loose connections, or faulty components.

Perform functional testing of control panels to ensure they operate as per design.

Work with engineers to modify or upgrade panels based on test results.

Follow industry standards such as IEC, NEC, or local electrical regulations.

Ensure electrical panels meet safety guidelines to prevent short circuits, overheating, or electrical hazards.

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with live circuits.

Assist in the installation of panels at client sites if required.

Connect panels to power sources and ensure proper integration with external systems.

Work with commissioning engineers to troubleshoot issues during setup.
