At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.

The successful Welder will be expected to work with a variety of industry equipment in carrying out various fabrication duties. We're looking for someone that has knowledge of precussion riveting, Drill/Ream/Countersink in panels and other skills as expected with the role.

The role will see candidates working day shifts, on a Monday – Thursday day shift basis, there is opportunity to work night shifts once fully trained which incurs an additional 33% shift premium

How You'll Contribute

Working with various materials (titanium, aluminium, stainless steel) in the manufacture of aircraft parts, across a variety of Airbus family of aircraft Ensure parts are produced on a ‘right first time’ basis Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system Responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader Adhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures Accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974 To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval) Responsible for general housekeeping within the area Compliant with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety Procedures relevant to all work activities

Essential:
A recognised and relevant apprenticeship and relevant NVQ level 3 (Or equivalent) Previous experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to work to standard operating procedures Must be able to work in small teams with Team Leaders Self-motivated team player with good communication skills

Desirable:
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives Ability to operate CNC Machinery (Unison Pipe Bending machines, Power Presses, CNC Drilling & routering) Experience of swaging pipework
