Position: Cleaner Role at YWCA Women's Shelter
Join the YWCA Toronto team as a Cleaner in our Women's Shelter. This full-time role supports a safe living environment for women and gender-diverse individuals in East York.

As a critical member of our staff, you will be responsible for cleaning and preparing shelter spaces. The position involves maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, working collaboratively in a trauma-informed environment.

Your role is pivotal in ensuring residents feel comfortable and respected while with us.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean all common areas and washrooms thoroughly

• Disinfect surfaces and clean bedrooms effectively

• Manage kitchen cleaning and waste disposal bi-weekly

• Follow health and safety policies in all cleaning duties

• Report supply needs to supervisors promptly

Requirements:

• High school level education or equivalent

• 1 to 3 years cleaning experience preferred

• Knowledge of cleaning product safety and use

• Independent worker with lifting capabilities

• Completion of WHMIS training is required
