• *Position Purpose :**

Reporting to the Team Coordinator, Security Division, you will deliver a consistent and superior level of customer service to students, faculty, and staff by actively seeking out opportunities to provide assistance and support. To ensure that campus rules and standards are observed by maintaining a highly visible and reassuring presence through your assigned patrol and post duties. To act as a community liaison and help to maintain a visibly safe and welcoming Campus environment. The successful candidate must be able to work nights and evenings, including weekends.
• *As a Security Guard, Campus Community Protection, you will:
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and University property by patrolling grounds and buildings.
• Interact with and provide initial support to persons experiencing mental health crises.
• Liaise with community and law enforcement partners to solve recurring issues.
• Build strong relationships with students, teachers and support staff.
• Prevent and detect security hazards and enforce both criminal and provincial statutes, as well as city bylaws and University regulations.
• Perform preliminary and follow-up investigations, draft notes and complete reports detailing observations and information received.
• At the request of the on-duty Team Coordinator, help train and evaluate new employees.

• Ontario Security Guard License
• First Aid, CPR and Oxygen administration
• A valid Ontario driver’s license with Abstract and Police check clearance.
• Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written); to be considered for this position, candidates must be rated at the intermediate or advanced proficiency level for both oral comprehension and reading comprehension in their second official language. The rating is determined by a proficiency test designed by the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute.
