Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

NAMCO has an immediate opening for a full-time Apprentice / Journeyperson Welder/Fitter.
The ideal candidate will have experience in fabrication, fitting, and welding in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to work from drawings and follow established procedures. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in quality workmanship and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Fabricate, fit, and weld components as per drawings and specifications

· Perform welding using FCAW (Flux Core) and Stick welding in all positions

· Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding procedures

· Prepare materials through grinding, cutting, drilling, and fitting

· Visually inspect welds (if certified) and ensure quality standards are met

· Measure and verify components as required

· Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

· Complete production documentation (travellers) as required

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

· Communicate with supervisors and team leads regarding progress and non-conformances

· Perform general shop duties and support team operations

QUALIFICATIONS

· Welder training (Apprentice or Journeyperson)

· Must be a registered apprentice, Alberta-certified journeyperson, or possess equivalent recognized credentials/experience

· Approximately 2+ years of relevant experience

· Strong knowledge of FCAW and Stick welding (all positions)

· Fitting and coping experience is considered an asset

· Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions

· Experience using hand tools, power tools, and overhead cranes (asset)

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

· Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

· Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset

Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities:
• Fast-paced environment
• Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs)
• Standing for extended periods; bending, crouching, kneeling
• High level of attention to detail and hand-eye coordination

• General manufacturing and welding shop

INTERVIEW PROCESS
• Shortlisted candidates will complete a hands-on welding test during the interview to demonstrate skill level and performance

• Monday to Friday
• 8-hour shifts (may vary based on workload)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Hourly Pay: $25.00 – $40.00+ per hour (negotiable based on experience and performance)
