Job Description
As a Security Guard, you will work in a visitor
‑
facing environment, supporting a diverse and often international public. Clear communication, professionalism, and approachability are essential.

We are seeking afull-time security guardto join our team as
a daytime Shift Supervisor
. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. You will observe and report activities and incidents at the assigned client site and make periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.

responsibilities
• Perform regular patrols of the site to help keep people, property, and buildings safe.
• Patrol the assigned area on foot and look for safety risks, hazards, unlocked doors, security concerns, or people who are not authorized to be on site.
• Respond quickly and calmly to security incidents or emergencies, using proper procedures and communicating clearly in French and English.
• Complete daily logs and written reports accurately and on time in French and/or English.
• Ensure site rules and policies are followed to maintain a safe and well
‑
organized environment.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service by assisting visitors and answering questions in French and English.
• Work closely with police, fire, or medical services when needed.
• Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious or unusual activity.
• Supervise security guards and make sure policies and procedures are followed at all times.
• Coordinate and manage guard coverage for special events and site activities in French and English.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have a valid Ontario Security guard license
• Must have a valid First-aid level C CPR certificate
• Availability to work full-time between the hours of 0600-1800, including weekends
• 1 year experience supervising employees in the security industry
• Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
• Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance
• Ability to learn quickly and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
• Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization
• Strong observational skills with the ability to detect and respond to security threats
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to perform all the duties of the position in French and English
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearence
