Job Description
As a Division Supervisor – Commercial Cleaning & Maintenance, you will be responsible for overseeing basic maintenance of Causeway’s main office facility while supporting the day-to-day operations of our commercial cleaning and pest control service lines. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in hiring and training, conducting quality assurance checks, managing inventory and systems, supporting contract development, maintaining client relationships, and assisting with administrative functions.

Responsibilities

· Supervise work assignments and job performance of client-employees, as well as provide applicable training and ongoing feedback.

· Oversee the attendance of CCS staff both at Causeway and external contract locations.

· Organize shift coverage for absenteeism, inclusive of performing coverage of duties if/when needed.

· Provide spot checks to ensure duties are completed to site specific standards and expectations.

· Manage inventory, ensuring building and site supplies are ordered, distributed and re-stocked weekly.

· Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to ensure off-site unit keys are distributed and returned.

· Negotiate and oversee external contractors, supervise the maintenance and repairs of the building and complete basic repairs/maintenance as required.

· Assist with building facilities such as litter and waste control, seasonal tasks such as tap shutoffs and winter mats, water cooler top ups and other interior and exterior building tasks as required.

· Prepare reports on property and building management for the senior leadership team and work with the administrative team on capital maintenance projects.

· Sit on the Health and Safety Committee, conducting interior and exterior building inspections to review both health hazards and ongoing maintenance needs.

· Complete maintenance records such as logs and security incident reports.

· Work in collaboration with the Operations Manager on marketing efforts and contract development/negotiations.

· Accurately maintain client files and client online databases (EMHware) to agency and funder standards.

· Complete and assist with hiring, on-boarding and training, payroll submissions, scheduling, filing and other administrative paperwork as required.

· Adhere to and ensure all client-employees are following health and safety requirements.

· Understand and adhere to all agency policies.

· Work in collaboration with other Causeway social enterprises and programs as required.

· Assist client-employees with skills building to support transitions to leadership roles and transitions to community-based employment when applicable.

· Work in collaboration with the Operations Manager on financial and budget management.

· Work a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings with advanced notice.

· Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

· Education: High School Diploma Required; post-secondary considered an asset.

· Experience: Minimum 1 year of industry-related work experience in commercial office/building cleaning, building maintenance and repair, including general contracting and/or other relevant work experience.

· Language: English Required; bilingualism considered an asset.

· Recent and Valid Police Records Check required.

· Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract required.

· Management & supervisory experience considered an asset.

· Effective time management, organization and leadership skills.

· First Aid/CPR & WHIMIS Required; training will be provided.

· Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

· Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft office applications.

· Provide coverage when required/directed including working on evenings and weekends as needed.
