Village is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Part-time Housekeeper.

What You Will Work On

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities, the successful applicant will be expected to perform assigned Housekeeping duties, assuring a clean, safe, inviting environment for the residents of Shepherd Village; the safety and well-being of our residents, visitors and staff is of paramount importance in any task performed by members of the department. To ensure residents receive excellent care and services. The successful applicant will do this by increasing their comfort, independence and control in their lives and their involvement in all decisions.

The successful applicant will support their families and the community's involvement in their lives.

Location on a major transit line with a bus stop positioned at the Organization’s property. How You’ll Create Impact Provide a clean, safe, and inviting environment for Shepherd Village residents to support their comfort, independence, and quality of life.

Maintain efficient and effective performance of all aspects of the Housekeeper duties while fostering positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and staff.

Follow all Shepherd Village policies, procedures, and Workplace Health & Safety Act requirements.

Work in varied areas with assigned duties, ensuring cleanliness through tasks such as emptying waste receptacles, cleaning washrooms, replenishing supplies, disinfecting surfaces, and maintaining offices, entrances, elevators, and staff areas.

Perform routine and deep-cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, moving furniture for weekly thorough cleaning, and completing projecting cleaning in rooms, common areas, and kitchen.

Report deficiencies to the coordinator and recommend corrective actions.

Perform transfers within the Village as required.

What Are Your

Skills and Experience MUST be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.

Must be able to speak, read, and write basic English.

Professional conduct with a commitment to comply with the Ontario Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and related policies of Shepherd Village to ensure the protection of individuals whose personal health information is in the custody or control of the organization.

Flexibility in hours and shifts is a must.

Experience with housekeeping procedures and equipment, with knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, and the model of care is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills suited to residents, families, visitors, and staff.

Team player attitude and ability to accept and follow directions.

Proven track record of excellent attendance and punctuality.
