About Us

We are a busy and growing welding and steel fabrication shop based in Calgary, committed to maintaining a safe, productive, and professional work environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to lead and support our health and safety program.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain company health and safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular shop inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits
• Ensure compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and industry standards
• Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions
• Coordinate and deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks
• Maintain safety records, certifications, and documentation
• Work closely with management and shop staff to promote a strong safety culture
• Assist in WCB claims management and return-to-work programs

Qualifications
• Previous experience in a Safety Officer role, preferably in welding, fabrication, or construction
• Strong knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety regulations
• COR certification or working towards it is an asset
• First Aid certification (required)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
