Site Description: This is a Courthouse building located in the heart of downtown Toronto. This state-of-the-art facility is a new build and offers a highly advanced technological setting.

Job Description: The on-site security personnel will provide a variety of services, implementing the Courthouse's security objectives according to policies and procedures which may include but are not limited to the following general tasks:
β€’ Protect the safety of persons and their belongings on Courthouse property
β€’ Prevent and minimize fire, theft, vandalism, criminal damage, and trespass on Courthouse property
β€’ Parking enforcement: including but not limited to the tagging/towing of unauthorized vehicles, calling out contractors for snow removal.
β€’ Minor parking gate access repairs and/or unjamming of mechanisms
β€’ Prohibit entry into secure areas of the Courthouse by anyone other than authorized persons determined by an authorized Courthouse administrator.
β€’ Complete interior and exterior patrol rounds of the Courthouse including documentation of conditions/safety concerns and weather reports as required.
β€’ Enforcement of the Courthouse's smoke-free property policies
β€’ Monitor security consoles (access control, secure elevator, and CCTV video monitors)
β€’ Visitor and employee identification verifications
β€’ Respond to alarms
β€’ Complete incident reports, logs, and daily operating reports
β€’ Issue and control access cards and keys to personnel, contractors, and visitors when required
β€’ Lock and unlock doors as scheduled or required
β€’ Report any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions
β€’ Maintain a log of security incidents and report occurrences
β€’ Document, secure, and manage lost and found property and property safekeeping
β€’ Security personnel will provide safety escort services to emergency contractors on Courthouse property when required
β€’ Advise Courthouse staff immediately of any notifiable incidents
β€’ Assist TPS with the management of any aggressive visitors (physically and verbally)
β€’ Attend every event or incident, which they reasonably consider may jeopardize the security of the Facility and provide a high level of customer service.
β€’ Assist TPS with the management of illicit substances and or weapons; securing the location of any found items, while awaiting TPS.
β€’ Document all events in a notebook or electronic incident report
β€’ Other duties as required/requested
