Position Overview

Allied Universal is currently seeking a professional and dependable Bilingual Security Guard Fire Warden to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while supporting fire prevention, emergency response procedures, and overall site safety operations.

This role requires strong communication skills in both English and French, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to respond effectively during emergencies and fire-related incidents.
Mandatory Requirements
• Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident status required
• Fluent in both English and French (written and verbal)
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
• Ability to obtain and maintain required site clearances
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in security, emergency response, fire watch, or fire warden duties
• Knowledge of fire safety procedures and emergency evacuation protocols
• Experience with access control, patrol operations, and incident reporting
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergency situations
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Basic computer knowledge and report-writing skills
Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine patrols to ensure the safety and security of the site
• Monitor for fire hazards, unsafe conditions, and security concerns
• Support emergency evacuation procedures and act as Fire Warden during emergencies
• Ensure fire exits, extinguishers, and emergency equipment remain accessible and compliant
• Maintain accurate incident reports, occurrence logs, and fire safety documentation
• Monitor access control and verify staff and visitor credentials
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents
• Provide professional customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors
• Communicate effectively with emergency responders, management, and site personnel
Physical & Working Conditions
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs may be required
• Indoor and outdoor work environments depending on operational needs
• Ability to remain alert, attentive, and composed throughout assigned shifts
