As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Supervisor, Facility Operations Night, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic group of Cleaners, Lead Cleaner, and Moving & Set Up Technicians.

This position is temporary for up to three (3) months and is for an existing vacancy.

This position is 100% on-site.

Night Shift: 4:00 pm– 11:45 pm (subject to change due to business operations and House sittings).

What You’ll Do
• Provide effective daily cleaning services, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, waxing/polishing floors, vacuuming/spot cleaning carpets, dusting/polishing furniture, woodwork, marble walls, showcase, brass work, and cleaning/servicing washrooms.
• Replenish supplies, ensuring appropriate cleaning procedures, proper use of chemicals, and operation of equipment.
• Assume responsibility for the proper removal and disposal of waste/recyclable materials from the building, ensuring waste containers are emptied daily, replacement of bags, and transportation of waste/recyclable materials to designated areas for pickup.

You’ll support our collaboration as you
• Ensure staff are knowledgeable about the recycling program, and notify the Manager where materials are not recycled properly.
• Follow basic instructions to provide effective cleaning services to the occupants of the Legislative Precinct in a timely and accurate fashion, ensuring appropriate practices are followed.

How You Qualify
• No specific formal education or training required.
• Requires up to 3 months on the job or prior related experience; position requires general knowledge and ability to understand and follow written/oral instructions, use of proper cleaning methods/procedures, safe operation of standard cleaning equipment, along with knowledge of safe working practices (WHIMS).
• Position requires good physical condition to lift heavy bags and boxes up to 20lbs and perform demanding cleaning routines.
• Basic understanding of computers and software applications, specifically to review work emails and participate in online training sessions.
