Job Description
A Plumbing & Heating General Foreman plays a crucial role in overseeing piping installation, ensuring safety compliance, and managing workforce efficiency on construction or industrial sites. Their responsibilities include:

Duties and Responsibilities:
β€’ Leadership & Supervision – Directs and coordinates piping crews, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations.
β€’ Planning & Scheduling – Develops work schedules, assigns tasks, and ensures project timelines are met.
β€’ Quality Control – Reviews piping work for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
β€’ Safety Enforcement – Ensures all safety regulations are followed, conducts site inspections, and facilitates safety meetings.
β€’ Material & Equipment Management – Oversees procurement, inventory, and proper use of piping materials and tools.
β€’ Collaboration – Works closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve technical issues and maintain workflow.
β€’ Problem-Solving – Identifies and addresses any operational or technical challenges related to piping installations.
β€’ Training & Mentorship – Guides and develops junior employees, ensuring proper work practices and skill development.
β€’ Documentation & Reporting – Maintains accurate records of labour productivity per their labour plans, work progress, safety reports, and any changes to the project scope.

Must haves:
β€’ Trade Qualification ie: Plumbing License or Fitters License
β€’ High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and multi-tasking in order to prioritize workload and stay on top of things as project demands increase.
β€’ Excellent organizational and decision making/problem solving skills.
β€’ Ability to analyze and understand construction drawings, associated documentation, contracts, cost coding systems and work breakdown structures.
β€’ Customer focused & resourceful
β€’ Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles and ability to effectively plan, assign and inspect the work of subordinates.
β€’ Ability to maintain time and material records and to prepare reports and cost estimates.
β€’ Skill in the use of the tools and equipment of the trade.
β€’ Experience in commercial and institutional projects is an asset

β€’ Previous experience leading crew in ICI or Large scale projects
β€’ Local 46 Membership, or member in good standing
