Our client, a reputable logistics and freight company operating across Southern Africa, is seeking experienced and dedicated Professional Truck Drivers to join their expanding fleet. This role involves long-haul transportation of goods, primarily operating within South Africa and potentially cross-border to neighboring countries. The ideal candidate must possess an exceptional driving record, a deep understanding of road safety regulations, and the ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of a variety of cargo, ensuring goods are transported securely and arrive in pristine condition. Key responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness, maintaining accurate logs of driving hours and delivery times, safely loading and unloading cargo as required, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company policies, performing basic vehicle maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues promptly, communicating effectively with dispatch and customers, and representing the company professionally at all times. Drivers will operate modern, well-maintained fleet vehicles. A valid Code 14 (EC) driver's license with a valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) is mandatory. Minimum of 5 years of verifiable long-haul driving experience is required. Experience with flatbed, container, or refrigerated trailers is a significant advantage. The ability to navigate using GPS and road maps, coupled with strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected road conditions or delays, is crucial. Candidates must be physically fit and capable of handling the demands of long-distance driving and occasional physical work related to cargo. A clean criminal record and excellent references are essential. We are committed to providing our drivers with a supportive work environment and competitive compensation, including performance-based bonuses. If you are a responsible, reliable, and experienced truck driver looking for a stable and challenging career, we encourage you to apply.
