Maintenance Supervisor | Luxury Lodge Location: WelgevondenSalary: R10,000 per month CTC | Live-InRoster: 3 Weeks On / 7 Days Off

Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury lodge in Welgevonden for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that all lodge infrastructure, guest areas, staff facilities, vehicles, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and presentation.

This role is critical in preserving asset value, supporting exceptional guest experiences, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards in a remote safari environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventative and Corrective Maintenance

Implement and manage a preventative maintenance programme across guest rooms, public areas, staff accommodation, back-of-house areas, and utilities

Conduct regular inspections and address maintenance issues promptly

Carry out hands-on maintenance across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding, and general repairs

Maintain generators, solar systems, water systems, sewage systems, and firefighting equipment

Team Leadership and Supervision

Supervise, train, and motivate the maintenance team

Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed within agreed timelines

Enforce safety protocols and proper use of tools and equipment

Guest Experience and Lodge Presentation

Ensure guest-facing areas are maintained to luxury lodge standards

Respond discreetly and promptly to guest-related maintenance issues

Work closely with Housekeeping and Front-of-House teams to resolve defects

Health, Safety and Compliance

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Maintain safety equipment, signage, and emergency systems

Conduct risk assessments and report hazards

Ensure safe storage and handling of tools and hazardous materials

Environmental and Sustainability Practices

Support sustainability initiatives relating to water, power, and waste management

Ensure maintenance practices align with environmental and conservation policies

Skills and Competencies:

Strong technical knowledge across general building maintenance disciplines

Ability to troubleshoot independently in a remote location

Good leadership, organisational, and planning skills

High attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a safari lodge or remote hospitality environment

Proven supervisory or team leadership experience

Trade qualification (electrician, plumber, carpenter, or similar) advantageous

Basic knowledge of generators and water treatment systems preferred

Valid driver’s licence required

Package Includes:

Live-in position in a remote bush environment

Three weeks on, seven days off roster

5% Provident Fund (compulsory, not part of CTC)

Uniform and meals provided

Salary: R10,000 per month CTC
