Job Description
• * Salary will be R31 per hour and overtime will be paid for working more than 45 hours in a week cycle. Salary with tips can range from R7000 - R11 000
• * Valid Driver’s License: a Code C1 (Code 10) license is essential.
• Professional Driving Permit (PrDP): Required for anyone transporting goods for an income.
• * To obtain this, you must:

○ Be at least 18 years old for goods vehicles.

Pass a police criminal background check (no serious driving or violent offenses in the last five years).

○ Provide a medical fitness certificate from a doctor.
• Identification: A valid South African ID or a work permit for foreign nationals.
• Cold Chain Maintenance: Drivers must be able to maintain proper temperature control to ensure product safety.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 20kg) and stand for extended periods.
• Communication: Proficiency in English for professional customer interaction.
• Technical Skills: Familiar with GPS navigation and basic mobile device usage, we use an app called Loop that has all the drop-offs that require a driver to complete each task and upload a photo of a signed invoice.
• Experience: at least 1–2 years of delivery or customer service experience.
• Other duties might include helping around the factory after deliveries are done.
• Will need to pack orders in Walk in Freezer ( should be able to work in colder conditions)
• Requires a hard working individual that can work every second Saturday (will then have an off day in the week) and working hours are from 8am-6pm with 60min lunch and 15min paid tea break.
• Factory in Retreat and need to be able to get to work easily.
• Drop off locations can reach from 4-12 stops in a day. We have 6 of our own shop locations and up to 30 Engen locations. Daily routes normally consider Muizies, SSW, Stellies, other Engens in Northern Suburbs in case they ordered and this route will be on mostly a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The other route will be for our CPT shops in Constantia, Noorhoek, Newlands and other incoming orders in the Cape Town region on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Saturday’s.
• Might be required to do sleep-over work trips when we deliver to the Garden route (accomodation provided by company)
• Need to keep vehicles & Walk-in freezer tidy without fail.
• Need to monitor vehicle’s box temperature to ensure ice cream remains frozen on longer trips and work fast when opening the doors, monitor oil levels and fuel in order to fill up at certain fuel depots available to us.
