Job Description
JUNIOR WELDER BOILERMAKER:

- Fabrication, assemblies
- Oversee welding, read drawings

A company based in Gauteng is looking for a semiskilled welder boilermaker at its Bronkhorstspruit department to carry out planned and unplanned maintenance and repair work, fabrication of required spare parts and installation, attend to breakdowns, perform standby duties, and attend to callouts timeously to reduce unplanned downtime.
• *The key performance requirements for the position are**:
Participate in health and safety meetings.

Find, report, unsafe, unhealthy and environmentally unfriendly conditions.

Ensure that all relevant procedures are complied with.

Incidents and near misses are reported, investigated and closed out.

Hazardous substances stored, handled, and disposed as per procedure.

Supply suggestions towards improving safety in the working environment.

Permit to work and safe work procedures are followed for all work.

Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and keep good housekeeping standards always.
• *Delivery and Quality**

Carry out planned maintenance work as per schedules and within stipulated time frames.

Report all anomalies findings of planned and adhoc inspections to the manger and carry out subsequent corrective actions.

Ensure that all breakdown work is carried out within minimum time and in a safe manner and to the highest level of quality.

Participate in shutdown planning by bringing to the attention of the coordinator all equipment related issues that require attention when plant is down.

Participate in the development of safe working procedures and risk assessment.

Ensure spare parts for area of responsibility are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and quality.

Provide factual and relevant information to assist in solving equipment failure related problems.

Ensure correct welding procedures and consumables are used during maintenance and repair jobs.

Identify possible opportunities to improve workshop reliability and availability.

Execute scheduled maintenance checks.
