About the Role Our client, a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician with expertise in high voltage systems to join their operations in **Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape**. This critical role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical systems within an industrial plant environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of high voltage equipment and power distribution systems, contributing significantly to the plant's operational continuity. This position requires a meticulous approach to safety protocols and a strong understanding of electrical codes and standards. You will be an integral part of the maintenance team, supporting the demanding production schedule in **Port Elizabeth**. Key Responsibilities Install, inspect, maintain, and repair high voltage electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, motors, and control panels. Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components to prevent failures. Troubleshoot electrical issues and diagnose faults using appropriate testing equipment and methods. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies. Safely operate and maintain high voltage equipment according to established procedures. Assist in the planning and execution of electrical system upgrades and modifications. Document all work performed, including repairs, maintenance activities, and test results. Respond to electrical emergencies and perform necessary repairs to restore power. Work collaboratively with other maintenance personnel and production staff. Requirements Qualified Industrial Electrician with a recognized trade qualification. Minimum of 6 years of experience working with high voltage electrical systems in an industrial setting. Demonstrated proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing high voltage equipment. Strong understanding of electrical theory, power distribution, and control systems. Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., SANS). Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints. Experience with testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Valid driver's license and ability to work shifts as required in **Eastern Cape**.
