Our client, a leading national courier and express parcel service, is looking for a reliable and experienced Intercity Express Courier Driver to operate between Port Elizabeth and other major South African cities. This role is essential for ensuring the swift and secure delivery of time-sensitive documents and packages across the country. The ideal candidate will be a professional, safety-conscious driver with a strong understanding of long-distance route planning and excellent time management skills. Key Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles for intercity express deliveries and pickups. Transport documents, parcels, and other goods accurately and efficiently. Plan and execute optimal routes for long-distance travel, ensuring timely arrivals. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any issues. Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and delivery confirmations. Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies throughout the journey. Provide excellent customer service during pick-up and delivery interactions. Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and transport compartments. Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding trip status and any delays or issues encountered in Port Elizabeth and beyond. Requirements Valid Professional Driver's Permit (PDP) and appropriate driver's license (Code 10 or higher preferred). Minimum of 4 years of verifiable experience as a professional driver, preferably in courier or express logistics. Clean driving record with no significant traffic violations. Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and mobile tracking devices. Strong knowledge of South African road networks, particularly major intercity routes. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage long driving hours. Good physical condition and ability to handle packages.
