Our client, a large commercial property management firm, is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Facilities Cleaner and Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations at their key properties in **Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, ZA**. This role requires a dedicated individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and proven leadership capabilities. The Senior Facilities Cleaner and Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of cleaning staff, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all assigned areas. This includes developing cleaning schedules, conducting regular inspections, managing inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also be involved in hands-on cleaning duties, particularly for specialized tasks or during staff absences. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, and building maintenance, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity. Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to train and motivate a team are essential. Responsibilities will include:
Supervise and lead a team of cleaning staff, providing guidance and support. Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for all assigned facilities. Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleaning standards are consistently met. Perform hands-on cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing restrooms, and waste removal. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and ordering replacements as needed. Train new cleaning staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and company policies. Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for staff and occupants. Respond promptly to cleaning-related requests and emergencies. Maintain records of cleaning activities, inspections, and staff performance. Address and resolve any cleaning-related issues or complaints effectively. Contribute to the continuous improvement of cleaning processes and efficiency. Qualifications:
Proven experience in commercial cleaning and janitorial services. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role within the cleaning industry. Thorough knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment. Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
