Our client, a leading logistics provider, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Professional Long-Haul Truck Driver to join their esteemed fleet. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods across various routes. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy-duty vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and company regulations, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent working condition.

Responsibilities:
Transporting goods from origin points to designated destinations, adhering strictly to delivery schedules. Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and safety compliance. Safely loading and unloading cargo, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques. Maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details. Ensuring the security and integrity of all transported goods throughout the journey. Communicating effectively with dispatch, clients, and other stakeholders regarding delivery status and any potential issues. Adhering to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and defensive driving techniques. Performing minor roadside repairs and maintenance as needed, and reporting any significant mechanical problems. Planning optimal routes to ensure efficiency and timely arrivals, considering traffic and weather conditions. Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Qualifications:
Valid Code 14 Driver's License with an excellent driving record. Professional Driving Permit (PDP) in good standing. Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a long-haul truck driver. Proven experience operating various types of heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Thorough knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws in Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA and surrounding regions. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods. Strong navigational skills and familiarity with GPS and mapping technology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Commitment to safety and reliability. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by dispatch.
