Reports to: ECD Centre Manager / Project Lead – Kuyakhanya
Employment Type: Full-time, Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

About the Role

We are seeking a vigilant, disciplined, and reliable Security Guard to ensure the safety and protection of the playhouse, personnel, and assets within the Ndwedwe. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, controlling access, and responding to incidents in a professional and timely manner. This position requires a proactive individual who is alert, physically fit, and committed to upholding safety standards and organisational protocols.

Minimum Requirements
β€’ Grade 10 or equivalent (Matric preferred)
β€’ Valid PSIRA registration (Grade C or higher)
β€’ Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a security guarding role
β€’ Good communication skills (verbal and written)
β€’ Ability to work from 18:00-06:00 (Night Shift)
β€’ Physically fit
β€’ Clear criminal record

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations (60%)
β€’ Control access to premises by verifying identification and logging visitors
β€’ Patrol assigned areas regularly to detect and prevent security breaches
β€’ Protect property, staff, and visitors from theft, damage, or harm
β€’ Conduct regular checks of gates, doors, and perimeter areas
β€’ Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies

Monitoring & Reporting (20%)
β€’ Maintain accurate occurrence books and incident reports
β€’ Report suspicious activities or security risks to the manager immediately
β€’ Assist with incident follow-ups where required
β€’ Ensure all incidents are properly documented and escalated

Site Compliance & Safety (10%)
β€’ Enforce site rules, safety procedures, and access control policies
β€’ Ensure all security procedures are consistently followed
β€’ Identify and report safety hazards on site

Administration (5%)
β€’ Complete daily logs and registers
β€’ Record movement of assets (e.g., playhouse vehicle) and deliveries

Support Duties (5%)
β€’ Assist staff and visitors with directions and general queries
β€’ Provide support during events or high-traffic periods where required
