As a Transport Trucking Refrigeration, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on refrigerated systems fitted to our rental fleet. You will ensure that all refrigeration units operate efficiently and comply with company and regulatory standards. This role plays a key part in delivering high service quality and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
β€’ Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on refrigerated vehicle units.
β€’ Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration repairs.
β€’ Conduct leak tests, pressure checks, and component replacements when required.
β€’ Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and internal quality standards.
β€’ Respond to breakdowns and provide technical assistance, both on-site and at customer locations when necessary.
β€’ Prepare vehicles for rental by ensuring refrigeration units are fully operational.
β€’ Complete technical inspections before and after vehicle rentals.
β€’ Maintain accurate service records and job cards for all interventions.
β€’ Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
β€’ Report major technical issues to the Workshop Manager and propose corrective actions.
β€’ Work closely with mechanics, workshop teams, and branch operations.
β€’ Support the Service Manager with fleet performance monitoring.
β€’ Provide technical guidance to junior staff when required.

Qualifications & Experience
β€’ Trade Test Certificate in Refrigeration / Air Conditioning (Artisan qualification required).
β€’ Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration; experience with refrigerated transport systems is a strong advantage.
β€’ Valid South African driver’s licence.
β€’ Experience with Thermo King or Carrier Transicold units is highly preferred.
