Job Description
Auto Electrician on Earthmoving Equipment on Vehicle Maintenace Department The incumbent must have:
• Be a trade tested Artisan as an Auto Electrician
• Working knowledge and understanding of diesel engines
• Have 3-5 yrs work experience
• A minimum of a matric certificate
• Must be able to communicate in English fluently (both written and oral)
• Adherence to all Health and Safety procedures
The successful incumbent must have the ability to work accurately and independently and have a good attendance, disciplinary and timekeeping record. Availability for shift work, standby and overtime is essential.

Must have experience and knowledge of the following, and not limited to the below, to complete their duties effectively:
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on vehicles and equipment
• Troubleshoot electronic systems (ECUs, sensors, etc.)
• Install, maintain, and repair wiring, alternators, starters, and lighting systems
• Attend to breakdowns and carry out on-site/field repairs when required
• Test vehicles/equipment after repairs to ensure proper functioning
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Always wear correct PPE and follow safety procedures
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations and company policies
• Ensure compliance with OHSA and site safety standards
• Work together with mechanical teams during repairs and rebuilds
• Communicate repair work and findings with management
• Complete job cards and maintain accurate service records
• Estimate repair time and report on work required
• Participate in training and development initiatives
