Job Description
Afrirent Auto is seeking 2 temporary welders to provide high-quality welding repairs and refurbishments of trucks and / or trailers in order to minimise downtime and / or reduce accident risks thereby enabling Afrirent to fulfil its contractual obligations to customers and meet stakeholder’s expectations.

EDUCATION:
• Occupational Certificate (NQF Level 4) in Welding

EXPERIENCE:
• 2 years’ arc and gas welding experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Performs high-quality welding repairs and refurbishments of trucks and trailers
• Replaces rubbing plates
• Reads blueprints and drawings and takes measurements to plan layouts and procedures
• Determines the appropriate welding equipment required and methods based on requirements
• Sets up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cuts material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operates angle grinders to prepare parts for welding
• Aligns components using callipers, rulers and clamp pieces
• Welds components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Repairs machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structures to identify and repair flaws
• Maintains equipment in safe conditions at all times
• Implements effective and hygienic housekeeping activities at all times
• Adherence to all safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) policies, procedures and requirements in the workshops
• Implements consistent safety protocols and procedures
• Identifies and reports all maintenance and repair requirements of welding equipment and tools

Pay: R11 500,00 per month
