Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Operate Code 10 vehicles including waste collection trucks, tipper trucks, and other assigned fleet vehicles safely and in full compliance with the National Road Traffic Act.
Transport waste, refuse, recyclable materials, and related loads to designated disposal or processing sites according to approved routes and schedules.
Assist waste management teams with loading and offloading of waste and equipment where required.
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to confirm roadworthiness and report any defects or faults to the supervisor immediately.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbooks recording all trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
Adhere strictly to waste collection schedules and designated routes to ensure reliable and timely service delivery.
Collect and deliver official documents, materials, and operational equipment as required.
Ensure assigned vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy at all times.
Liaise with the fleet supervisor to coordinate scheduled vehicle services, repairs, and licence renewals.
Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements applicable to waste management and heavy vehicle operations.
