Overall purpose of the role

To support the mechanical engineers and maintenance teams with welding and fitting metal equipment around site.

Main duties and responsibilities

As a mechanical fitter you must have completed an apprenticeship in welding.

The role of a mechanical fitter involves the following duties:
β€’ Repairing cracked or broken metal work
β€’ Following safety protocols in the workplace
β€’ Maintaining an orderly stock room
β€’ Performing equipment checks and basic maintenance
β€’ Following written instructions and keeping records
β€’ Adhering to health and safety regulations
β€’ Completing physical tasks quickly and accurately.
