Job Description
Reporting to the relevant manager, the Fabricator Welder will ensure all fabrication work meets project specifications and maintain a clean and safe work area by removing slag at a production facility in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by removing slag, offcuts, and waste materials, and ensuring gas cylinders are stored and secured properly.
• Adhere strictly to all occupational health and safety regulations and wear required PPE including welding helmet, gloves, safety boots, and protective clothing.
• Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, ARC, or CO2 processes on mild steel, stainless steel, and other metals according to welding procedure specifications.
• Ensure all fabrication work meets project specifications, welding codes, and quality standards before sign-off and handover.
• Store all welding consumables, tools, and equipment properly at the end of each shift to maintain order and prevent loss or damage.

Requirements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds that meet inspection standards.
• A valid driver's licence is preferred for roles requiring travel to multiple sites.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications accurately.
• A minimum of two to five years of practical welding experience in a workshop, construction, or industrial environment.
• A recognised trade certificate or welder qualification issued by a relevant SETA or approved training authority.
• Physical fitness to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in outdoor conditions on construction sites.
