Duties & Responsibilities

Job Title: Double Coded Welder

Location: Atlas Boksburg

Job Purpose

The Double Coded Welder will be responsible for performing high-quality welding on cast components within a foundry environment. The role requires strict adherence to welding procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations to ensure the structural integrity and durability of cast products.
Key Responsibilities
β€’ Perform welding on castings using approved welding procedures and techniques
β€’ Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
β€’ Carry out repairs and fabrication on cast iron and steel components
β€’ Ensure all welding work meets quality and inspection standards
β€’ Conduct pre- and post-weld inspections
β€’ Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition
β€’ Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
β€’ Work closely with quality control and production teams to meet deadlines
β€’ Identify and report defects, faults, or non-conformances

Minimum Requirements
β€’ Grade 12 / Matric
β€’ Valid Double Coding Welding Certification (e.g. SMAW, GTAW, or FCAW)
β€’ Proven experience in a casting or foundry environment
β€’ Ability to weld various materials including cast iron and steel
β€’ Strong understanding of welding procedures and quality standards
β€’ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Experience Required
β€’ Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a coded welder.
β€’ Previous experience in heavy industry, foundry, or casting environment is essential.
