Job Title: Security Officer / Security Guard

Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable, vigilant Security Officer to protect our premises, assets, and personnel. In this role, you will maintain a highly visible presence to prevent illegal or disruptive actions, monitor the property for safety hazards, and respond quickly to any emergencies or security incidents.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
• Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols of the designated premises to check access points, doors, gates, and windows.
• Access Control: Authorize the entry of employees, visitors, and vehicles into the property. Verify identification, maintain visitor logs, and issue visitor badges.
• Monitoring: Watch live closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera feeds and alarm systems to detect suspicious behavior, unauthorized entry, or safety breaches.
• Incident Response: Respond immediately to alarms, emergencies, medical incidents, or calls for assistance. Take appropriate action according to company emergency procedures.
• Reporting: Write clear, accurate, and detailed daily shift reports and incident logs. Document any property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences.
• Law Enforcement Liaison: Contact and coordinate with local police, fire departments, or medical emergency services when necessary.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with building safety rules, including fire safety protocols and hazard identification.

Job Requirements & Qualifications
• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent secondary school education.
• Registration: Must hold a valid registration certificate with the relevant national security regulatory body (e.g., a valid PSIRA registration at Grade C, B, or A in South Africa).
• Experience: Previous experience as a security officer or in a similar protective service role is highly preferred. Experience operating CCTV monitoring systems is an advantage.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for long periods, including working night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Clearance: Must pass a comprehensive background check and criminal record screening.
