Job Description
Introduction

ZSS Security is a private security firm based in Linbro Park, Sandton. We are seeking a vigilant, professional, and highly motivated Control Room Operator to join our Operations Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring security systems, managing incidents and alerts, coordinating responses, and ensuring the effective operation of our control room.

This position requires individuals who are able to remain focused for extended periods, work under pressure, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Monitor CCTV camera systems for both internal company sites and external clients.
• Conduct off-site surveillance and monitoring of security operations.
• Identify, assess, and respond to security incidents and alarms.
• Manage and investigate alerts generated by security systems.
• Dispatch reaction units and relevant personnel when required.
• Compile and submit hourly operational reports to management.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, activities, and communications.
• Extract, review, and provide CCTV footage for incidents, investigations, client requests, and disciplinary processes.
• Liaise with clients, security officers, reaction units, emergency services, and management.
• Escalate incidents in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure all control room procedures and protocols are followed.
• Monitor system functionality and report technical faults promptly.
• Prepare incident reports and shift handover documentation.

Desired Experience & Qualification
• Grade 12 (Matric).
• PSIRA registration (minimum Grade C preferred).
• Previous Control Room, CCTV Monitoring, Security Operations, or Call Centre experience will be advantageous.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts.
• Excellent attention to detail and observation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions during emergency situations.
• Reliable transport to and from work.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
