Job Description
Overview

A Netcare Hospital Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and infection‑control standards across Netcare hospitals, clinics, emergency centres, and Primary Care facilities throughout South Africa.
Responsibilities
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of patient wards, operating theatres, waiting areas, and restrooms.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for healthcare cleaning and infection‑control protocols.
• Maintain sterile environments and support infection‑prevention efforts in high‑traffic areas.
• Assist in the routine upkeep of facilities to meet Netcare’s rigorous standards.
Salary & Benefits
• Entry‑level cleaner – ZAR 5,500–7,000 per month
• Experienced cleaner – ZAR 7,000–9,500 per month
• Theatre and ICU support cleaner – ZAR 7,500–10,500 per month
• Medicross clinic cleaner – ZAR 6,500–9,000 per month
• Cleaning team leader – ZAR 10,000–14,000 per month
• Cleaning supervisor – ZAR 14,000–19,000 per month

Qualifications & Skills
• Education: No formal qualification required for entry‑level roles; Grade 10 or Grade 12 strongly preferred; good English communication skills advantageous.
• Experience: Previous cleaning experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge: Basic understanding of infection‑control procedures and hygiene protocols; ability to follow SOPs.
• Attributes: Reliability, attention to detail, and physical fitness to meet the demands of a healthcare cleaning environment.
• Certifications (advantageous):
• Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) awareness training
• Health and Safety (OHSA) awareness certificate
