Our client is offering a fantastic opportunity for aspiring individuals to join their team as a Junior Welder through a comprehensive Apprenticeship program in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA . This program is designed to equip enthusiastic learners with the essential skills and knowledge required to become proficient welders and fabricators. You will receive hands-on training under the guidance of experienced tradespeople, learning various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Arc welding, as well as fundamental fabrication processes. The apprenticeship will cover safety protocols, blueprint reading, material handling, and the use of specialized tools and equipment.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will be involved in practical tasks, assisting senior staff in fabricating and assembling metal structures and components. This will include measuring, cutting, shaping, and joining metal pieces according to precise specifications. A strong emphasis will be placed on quality control and attention to detail to ensure all work meets industry standards. You will gain experience working with different types of metals and learning about their properties and applications. The program also includes theoretical instruction, which may be delivered through a local technical college, covering subjects relevant to the trade.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist experienced welders and fabricators in workshop tasks. Learn and practice various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc). Gain proficiency in metal cutting, shaping, and joining. Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Perform basic fabrication and assembly of metal components. Adhere to strict health and safety regulations in the workshop. Grade 10 or 12 with Maths and Science is preferred. A mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Reside in or have reliable transport to the Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA area.
