Duties & Responsibilities

Our client in Paarl, a manufacturing concern within the Food Industry, is looking for an Assistant Packing Coordinator.

As the Assistant Packing Coordinator you will have the responsibility in assisting the Packing Manager with regards to the following:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Oversee daily packaging line operations, ensuring production targets are met and scheduling shifts for staff.
• Monitor packaging for defects and ensure compliance with industry regulations, such as FDA or environmental standards.
• Assist in the development of new packaging solutions, from initial prototyping and testing to final implementation.
• Liaise with suppliers to source materials, negotiate costs, and manage inventory levels to prevent production delays.
• Identify inefficiencies in the packing process and recommend improvements to reduce waste and lower production costs.
• Support the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of the packaging team.
• REQUIREMENTS
• Typically requires 2-5 years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environments.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SYSPRO) and packaging design software.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Strong analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to work under high pressure in a fast-paced environment.

SALARY

R12 000 – R15 000 CTC
