Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
β€’ The Security Officer is responsible for preventing unauthorized access, ensuring operational safety, and responding to security threats to maintain a secure and controlled environment within the CEF strategic installation classified as National Key Point.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
β€’ Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
β€’ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Security environment of with 2 years must have been a Security Guard in a NKP industry.
β€’ PSIRA (grade A or B) certificate
β€’ National Key Point (NKP) Certificate and Level 1 valid First Aid Certificate will serve as an added advantage
β€’ Computer Literacy skills required
β€’ Valid driver’s license will serve as an added advantage.
β€’ Clean Criminal record

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Surveillance and Security Monitoring
β€’ Monitor CCTV cameras, alarms, and security systems to detect and respond to any suspicious activity.
β€’ Conduct routine patrols to ensure all security protocols are followed.
β€’ Report security breaches, unusual activities, or safety hazards to the relevant authorities.
β€’ Ensure compliance with company security policies and government regulations.

VIP and Visitor Management
β€’ Provide a professional and courteous presence at entry points, ensuring visitors are appropriately screened and directed.

Access Control & Entry Management
β€’ Enforce access control policies by checking identification and issuing visitor passes.
β€’ Maintain accurate visitor logs and records.
β€’ Ensure restricted areas are only accessed by authorized personnel.

Emergency Preparedness & Response
β€’ Assist in emergency evacuations, drills, and incident response.
β€’ Maintain familiarity with emergency procedures, including fire safety protocols and medical response.
β€’ Apply minimum force principles when handling threats.
β€’ Use non-lethal weapons (batons, pepper spray, handcuffs) if required.
β€’ Respond effectively to riot control and civil unrest situations.

General Security Support
β€’ Assist employees with security concerns, such as lost badges or suspicious packages.

Protection of critical infrastructure and assets
β€’ Safeguard refinery pipelines, storage tanks, control rooms, and hazardous areas.
β€’ Prevent sabotage, vandalism, and unauthorized interference with operations.
β€’ Ensure compliance with National Key Point security measures.
