Job Description
Our client, a premier provider of commercial cleaning services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cleaning Technician to oversee and execute specialized cleaning tasks at various prestigious sites across Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA . This hands-on role requires an individual with extensive knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety protocols, particularly for high-touch environments and specialized surfaces. You will be responsible for leading a small team of technicians, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency are met. The Lead Technician will also play a role in training junior staff and ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
Perform advanced cleaning tasks, including deep cleaning, sanitization, floor care (scrubbing, waxing, polishing), and high-level dusting. Lead and guide a team of cleaning technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed according to schedule and quality standards. Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, pressure washers, and steam cleaners. Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals, adhering to all safety data sheets (SDS) and regulations. Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure consistent high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Train new and existing cleaning staff on proper cleaning procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Manage cleaning supplies inventory for assigned sites, requesting replenishment as needed. Respond promptly to client requests or concerns regarding cleaning services. Implement and enforce company policies and health and safety regulations. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, equipment maintenance, and supply usage. Identify and report any facility maintenance issues or hazards observed during cleaning. Contribute to continuous improvement of cleaning processes and service delivery.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial cleaning, with a significant portion in a lead or supervisory role. Proven expertise in various cleaning methods, including specialized floor care and deep cleaning techniques. Proficiency in operating and maintaining a wide range of cleaning equipment. In-depth knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their safe use, and storage. Strong understanding of health, safety, and sanitation standards (e.g., HACCP principles if applicable). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to train and mentor team members effectively. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods. A valid driver's license may be required for site mobility. Relevant certifications in cleaning or facility management are a plus. This is an on-site position located in Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA .
